  • 'From September 2026, community and voluntary controlled schools will have a two-week autumn half term. Five days will be taken from the summer holiday in July 2027. The school year will still have 195 days, including 5 INSET days.'
  • 'Academies, Voluntary Aided and Foundation schools may have different term dates.' 'Other schools set their own dates but are encouraged to follow these.'

  • 'From September 2027, community and voluntary controlled schools will revert to a one-week autumn half term.'
  • 'There are five Inset (Teacher Training) Days that are taken during the 2027 to 2028 academic year which are set locally by schools and are taken from the 195 days given here.'
  • 'Academies, Voluntary Aided and Foundation schools may have different term dates.'
  • Council states dates for the 2028 to 2029 academic year will be published before 10 May 2027.
